Liverpool Confident They Can Secure £11m Star – reports

Liverpool have raced ahead of their rivals to sign Bayern Munich winger Xherdan Shaqiri, and are reportedly confident that they can secure his signature in the January transfer window, according to the Daily Express.

The Swiss international has been a long term target of the Anfield club, and they made repeat moves in an attempt to sign him during the summer.

However, none of those came off, with Bayern refusing to countenance the sale of a talent that they consider to be integral to their future.

The situation has seemingly changed though, and Liverpool have stolen the lead on the likes of Inter Milan and Juventus.

Serie A duo Inter and Juve are only willing to offer Shaqiri a loan deal, whereas the player wants to leave on a permanent basis.

Therefore, they could snap him up for £11 million, assuming that Bayern accept an approach for him over the course of the winter window.

Shaqiri would boost Liverpool’s side immeasurably, offering the sort of dynamism that their side have lacked since the sale of Luis Suarez to Barcelona in the summer.

Liverpool Blow In Race For £12m Forward – reports

Liverpool have been dealt another blow going into the January transfer window, with the news emerging that Bayern Munich’s highly talented winger Xherdan Shaqiri is on the cusp of moving to Juventus on loan.

The Reds have been chasing Shaqiri since the summer, when a series of moves for the player, who has been valued at around £12 million, failed to come off.

Shaqiri spent the summer in Brazil with the Swiss national side, and scored a famous hat trick as they progressed past the group stages.

He is thought to be unhappy at Bayern, having seen opportunities limited under manager Pep Guardiola.

While Liverpool have been in pole position to sign him since the summer, Juventus have now emerged as contenders.

Shaqiri is now likely to move to Turin on a loan deal until the end of the season, and Juve would have the option of making the move permanent in the summer if they choose, according to the Daily Star.

Liverpool And Man Utd Told To Bid For £18m Ace – reports

Liverpool and Manchester United have both been told by Xherdan Shaqiri’s agent and brother to make a move in the summer for the Bayern Munich star.

The Swiss international is known to want a move away from the Allianz Arena, having seen his opportunities limited under current boss Pep Guardiola.

He tried to push for a move in the summer during the World Cup, but nothing came of that.

Liverpool chased him particularly closely, and they seemed, at various points, like they’d got the man who had scored a stunning hat trick in the competition in Brazil.

However, ultimately the German club’s hierarchy blocked a move for Shaqiri, and he was forced to stay with Bayern going into the season.

His opportunities have not improved, but Guardiola remains disinterested in seeing him leave.

Man Utd have also been linked to the player, with the Old Trafford club previously putting a £18 million price tag on him.

Agent Erdin Shaqiri has told the Premier League pair that a bid in the summer would likely work.

“We are now waiting safely until summer. Then, when teams come as Liverpool, Manchester United, Inter Milan and other top clubs we hear that to us safely,” he said.
