Arsenal Hero Calls For Liverpool To Sign £11m Ace

Liverpool would be best served by snapping up Bayern Munich winger Xherdan Shaqiri in the January transfer window, according to Arsenal hero Ray Parlour, as reported by the Daily Star.

The Reds have been heavily linked with a move for Shaqiri during the winter window, and recent reports suggest that the Anfield club have stolen a charge on their close rivals for his signature.

While Inter Milan, Juventus, Valencia and Premier League rivals Stoke City are all thought to be keen, Liverpool’s willingness to pay £11 million for the Swiss international winger should be enough to convince Bayern to sell to them over the other interested parties.

Shaqiri himself is desperate to leave Bayern, with the 23 year old unhappy about his lack of opportunities to play for the first team under Pep Guardiola.

Parlour, known to fans of the Gunners as the Romford Pele, is of the opinion that bringing Shaqiri in could improve Liverpool’s season considerably.

“It’s a move that he would be very interested in because he is not playing on a regular basis,” he told Sky Sports.

“He is only 5’6” and Liverpool have a lot small players already but he has potential and at 23 he is already very experienced for his age.

“He would be a good signing, he has played with some top quality players.

“He always wants the ball, can go past players, tracking back is probably not his game but he can create chances.

“With his calibre at being at Bayern, Liverpool have to have a serious look at him.”

Liverpool Set To Win January Race For £11m Forward – reports

Liverpool are set to win the race for Bayern Munich forward Xherdan Shaqiri, after it was reported by the Daily Express that the closest rivals for his signature, Inter Milan, have decided to target Chelsea’s outcast winger Mohamed Salah instead.

Salah has played only infrequently since moving to Chelsea during the January transfer window last season.

It represents a huge fall for the Egyptian international, who was previously a key player at Basel, and understandably, he may want to move on.

The Reds have been targeting Shaqiri since the summer, although a move then never went through.

They have targeted him for a move in January, however, and will hope to wrap up a deal now that Inter have decided they would rather sign the Chelsea winger on loan until the end of the season.

Inter would intend to sign him on a permanent deal in the summer if the move worked.

Breaking: Stoke To Rival Liverpool For £11m Shaqiri – reports

Liverpool face competition from another Premier League side in their chase for Bayern Munich winger Xherdan Shaqiri, with Stoke City having been made aware of his availability, as reported by Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, according to James Horncastle.

The Swiss international winger has been heavily linked with a move to the Reds since the summer, but at that point, Bayern were not willing to part with him.

However, the situation has seemingly changed in recent weeks, and Shaqiri can now seemingly move on.

Inter Milan and Juventus are other clubs thought to be keen on signing him, and they were believed to be Liverpool’s greatest rivals.

However, the Anfield club had an advantage over them – they would be willing to sign him on a permanent basis for £11 million, while the Serie A duo were only willing to sign him on loan.

It now seems they might face competition from Stoke, who would undoubtedly benefit from the addition of the ultra talented wide player.
