Japanese side FC Tokyo have reportedly lined up a move for Barcelona midfielder Xavi at the end of the season, as reported by fichajes.net.
The Japanese team have put together a package which is expected to appeal to Xavi financially, with the player looking increasingly likely to leave the Camp Nou at the end of the season.
FC Tokyo have apparently put aside €7 million as an annual wage in order to capture the Barca captain, a figure that would be considered enough to capture Xavi.
If a move were to go through for the midfielder, he would begin playing for FC Tokyo in March 2015.
This could come as something of a blow to Manchester United, who reportedly made a move for Xavi in the summer in an attempt to shore up their midfield.
With results still hard to come by for Louis van Gaal, Xavi could have been a realistic target in January.
