Dortmund Day: Part 1

Ahead of Borussia Dortmund’s Champions League tie against Ajax, we have decided to feature what is being called the Football Hipster’s Team of Choice 2k12, given Lavezzi’s departure from Napoli (coming in at a strong second are Atletico Madrid). Whilst they are part of what is, very simply, a tough group, the video should show why they will not be pushovers. Manchester City and Real Madrid are not guaranteed passage by any means.

Dortmund have lost Kagawa over the summer, but added players in the form of Marko Reus, who carried Borussia Mönchengladbach to a high position in the Bundesliga last season, something unexpected at the start. Dortmund have one of the world’s most exciting young managers in the form of Jürgen Klopp. Furthermore, their academy graduate Mario Götze is also certainly one of the best attacking midfielders in the world, and is coveted by many teams worldwide. Robert Lewandowski is also an excellent striker, and spearheads the strong front four that Dortmund put out.
