Spurs Eye Up £5m Ace To Replace Striking Duo – reports

Tottenham Hotspur have been scouting Colombian international striker Teo Gutierrez, with the hope of signing him to replace likely departing duo Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado, as reported by the Daily Mirror.

Scouts were sent this week to check on Gutierrez’s display.

The River Plate striker has been in excellent form recently for his club, who top the Argentinian league, but he failed to score as they clashed with Velez.

Despite his good form, the player is available for only £5 million.

His addition could be of huge benefit to the White Hart Lane side, with the north London side struggling to score since the start of the season.

The 29 year old could even be a direct replacement for the likes of Adebayor and Soldado, who are both tipped to depart in the January transfer window.

Spurs captain Younes Kaboul will be hopeful that Gutierrez has calmed down somewhat in recent years, with the Colombian having previously pulled a gun on his own skipper while at Racing Club.
