Leeds Only Huge Club In Yorkshire – Rival boss

Rotherham manager Steve Evans has declared that Leeds United are comfortably the only huge club in Yorkshire, as reported by Leon Wobschall of the Yorkshire Evening Post.

@LeonWobYP: Evans:People can claim to be biggest club in Yorks; certain ones can claim to be massive but theres only 1 huge club in Yorkshire; Leeds Utd

He made these comments in a press conference after last night’s 2-0 win, with the Millers achieved courtesy of a goal from former Leeds striker Luciano Becchio, returning to goal scoring form after joining them on loan from Norwich City.

The former Leeds man was consistently linked with a move back to Elland Road, but ultimately joined local rivals Rotherham on deadline day.

Leeds will face Rotherham at the end of the month away from home.

Evans is part of an attempt by the Millers to sell out, in an attempt to lessen Leeds’s potential allocation of away tickets.

The Yorkshire giants face off against Reading in the Championship tonight, having lost 2-0 to Brentford at the weekend.

This weekend they face another Yorkshire side as Sheffield Wednesday come to Elland Road in the early kick off in the Championship.

Former Leeds star Tom Lees returns to Elland Road in that game, having made the switch to Wednesday just before the start of the new season.
