Leeds Have First Game Moved For Television

Leeds United have had their first home game of the season moved to accommodate for Sky Sports, who intend to broadcast it. The clash against Middlesbrough has been moved to 12.45pm on Saturday 16th August.

Leeds were frequently broadcast by Sky last season, comfortably having the highest number of games in the division, even ahead of clear promotion favourites like Queen’s Park Rangers and Leicester City. This also came in contrast to the likes of Birmingham, who only had one game broadcast – their clash against Leeds.

Little is known about what the state of Leeds United will be by the time the club’s first home game of the season rolls around. Last season’s top scorer Ross McCormack looks set to make a move to Fulham. The club remain under a transfer embargo, although that looks set to be lifted soon enough. In the meantime, they have been linked to former Manchester City goalkeeper Stuart Taylor, who has only made 72 appearances in a career spanning over ten years.

All that can be sure is that Sky have chosen to broadcast a game that will be surrounded by intrigue, as a new look Leeds United managed by Dave Hockaday appear on the national scene for the first time.
