Man Utd Legend Compared To Iraqi Dictator By Ex-Leeds Star

Manchester United legend Roy Keane has been compared to infamous Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein by former Leeds United player and hero Alfe Inge Haaland, as reported by the Daily Star.

Haaland’s career was somewhat ended by a tackle by Keane in a clash between Man Utd and Manchester City over a decade ago.

Keane hit Haaland with a particularly disgusting tackle without any prompting, in response to an incident in a previous game.

A particularly key moment in Keane’s first book revealed that the former Sunderland and Ipswich manager had intended to injure Haaland, which received widespread condemnation at the time from the world of football.

The former Republic of Ireland international also said in his new book that, while he regretted many things in football, his tackle against Haaland was not one of them.

In response, Haaland tweeted a photograph of Keane and Hussein, comparing their beards.

While he deleted it, Haaland did not let the feud there, saying: “Sorry for deleting my tweet last night. I had to. SH’s family did not want to be associated with your former leader.”
