Leeds United Deny Interest In Former Inter Milan Hitman

Leeds United have denied having any interest in former Inter Milan striker Robert Acquafresca, who they were linked with a move for on Monday, as reported by Phil Hay of the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Acquafresca, who spent the early stages of his career at Inter but never played a game for the Italian giants, was linked with a switch from his current club, Bologna. He has previously been prolific for Cagliari under Leeds owner Massimo Cellino and sporting director Nicolas Salerno.

Leeds did, however, confirm the transfer of Federico Viviani, who had previously seemed out of reach for the Yorkshire club. Cellino told Hay that the move had been completed, and he would be joining the Whites on loan.

Viviani had previously flown back to Italy, and Cellino had announced that talks had been cancelled.

The Italian youngster was put off, reportedly, by Leeds’s display against Mansfield, when they lost 2-0.

They have since drawn against Chesterfield, however, although said game saw them score both of their goals from the penalty spot.
