A list of players who Real Madrid failed to bring into the Santiago Bernabeu this summer has been published by Spanish newspaper El Confidencial, and in a shock piece of news, one player they targeted and failed to capture was Brazilian international Ramires.

The Spanish giants even made an approach to the west London club in an attempt to get them to sell their midfield machine, but they refused to part with the player who has consistently played a key role since moving to Stamford Bridge.

While El Confidencial does not delve into any further detail about the offer made to Chelsea, it is obvious that the Premier League side are not willing to sell one of their prized assets.

Ramires is one of a series of midfielders that Real failed to capture this summer, including Marco Verratti and Fredy Guarin. All three were targeted in an attempt to replace Sami Khedira, who will be out of action for six weeks.
