Giants Chase Liverpool Ace After Contract Woe – reports

Real Madrid are set to make a stunning swoop for Liverpool starlet Raheem Sterling after the talented young star’s contract talks with the Anfield club stalled.

Sterling reportedly turned down a new contract worth £70,000 a week with the Reds yesterday, believing that he deserves a bigger pay packet.

The England international has only scored three goals for the Reds since the start of the season, but his importance to them last campaign is difficult to overstate.

He played a key role as Brendan Rodgers’ side made a surprise push, challenging for the Premier League title as the season reached its climax.

As a result, he clearly feels he deserves a bigger salary, closer to £100,000 every week.

This might allow Real Madrid, who were previously linked with a move for the player, to capture their man.

Chelsea could also be potential rivals, having previously looked to sign Sterling from the Merseyside club.

Liverpool Talks Over Deal For Wonderkid Stall – reports

Liverpool starlet Raheem Sterling is nowhere near agreeing a new deal with the Anfield club, despite being offered £70,000 a week by the Reds.

This would have provided the wonderkid with a weekly pay rise of £40,000, a staggering sum for a player of his age, but he seemingly has no interest in renewing his deal at that salary.

The Telegraph is reporting that a source close to the situation suggests the player and club are nowhere near an agreement over a new contract.

There is, however, hope that the two parties can reach a resolution in the near future.

While Sterling’s form has been nowhere near as good as it was last season, when he played an integral role in Liverpool’s late charge towards the top of the table, it would be a devastating blow to the Anfield club if they were to lose him.

Liverpool face Manchester United at the weekend.

Liverpool Speedster Tracked By Football Giants – reports

Real Madrid are reportedly targeting Raheem Sterling for a transfer in the near future, despite the public denials by Carlo Ancelotti that the side are not interested in him, as reported by fichajes.net.

Ancelotti believes that the addition of the Liverpool winger would add more speed to his attack, something that the Spanish club already possess plenty of in the form of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.

Despite having little impact in the game between the two sides last week, Sterling has emerged as one of the top young talents in Europe since the turn of the year.

He was imperative as Liverpool put together a surprise title challenge in the later stages of last season.

Ancelotti has been tracking Sterling for a while, and it would be a significant boost for the former Chelsea boss if he could get his man.

Real beat Barcelona 3-1 in last night’s El Classico, the first of the season.
