Man Utd Plunged Into Crisis By Two New Injuries

Manchester United have found themselves in another injury crisis, after seeing both Rafael da Silva and Luke Shaw pick up knocks in yesterday’s FA Cup clash with Yeovil Town, as reported by the Daily Mirror.

Rafael’s injury was the more serious on first analysis, as the Brazilian was taken to hospital, with his club’s physios believing that he had suffered a fractured cheekbone.

Luke Shaw, Rafael’s counterpart on the left side of the defence, was taken off at half time of the 2-0 win for the Red Devils, with the England international believed to have suffered an ankle injury.

Both Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia are expected to be out of action ahead of Man Utd’s clash with Southampton next Sunday, which means that the club have no senior full backs available to them for the game.

Van Gaal took time out to praise Rafael for continuing to play despite the injury.

The United boss said: “I think we have a lot of problems in the first half, I don’t think you have noticed Rafael Da Silva has an injury and a fracture of his bone so it was fantastic he had the guts to play through.

“But I have to change him and also Luke Shaw had an ankle problem so I had to change him also.

“Rafael has already gone away in a car. I don’t know how he did it. I cannot say I will have to watch the video. Also, with Shaw. It was a very physical game. Rafael played through. Last few weeks he has not played so much. He has a fantastic attitude, he is unbelievable.”

Man Utd Star Warns Chelsea: “Everyone Is Beatable”

Manchster United star Rafael has warned Chelsea that every team is beatable ahead of their clash on Sunday, as reported by the Daily Star.

Jose Mourinho’s side remain the only unbeaten team in the Premier League since the start of the new campaign, and in fact, have won every game aside from their away clash against Manchester City, when they dropped two points by drawing with the Manchester side.

Man Utd, by contrast, have struggled to put together consistent form since the start of the season.

Pre season optimism was tempered by an opening day defeat against Swansea City, when they lost 2-1 to Garry Monk’s side.

Along the way, there have been huge defeats, including the 4-0 loss against MK Dons in the League Cup.

A decent run of two home wins was halted by a 2-2 draw with West Brom on Monday, with the Red Devils going behind twice.

Rafael is, however, confident, and said: “Everyone is beatable. We have to do our best, of course. They are playing well.

“We’re playing at Old Trafford though and we’ve been getting results there so they are definitely beatable.

“I feel that we’ve been getting results here and have played some good football.

“Football is about results and, when you don’t play well and draw, like on Monday night [against West Brom], of course everyone will speak.

“But hopefully we can play well against Chelsea and, if we get the result, it would be very positive for us and the whole team.

“I’m sure Old Trafford will be very loud again. It will be hard because they are playing well.

“We just have to concentrate and do our best, and I hope we can get the result we want.”
