Arsenal And Liverpool Blow In War For 27-Year-Old Wing Sensation – reports

Arsenal and Liverpool have been dealt a blow in their chase for Barcelona star Pedro, after it emerged that Italian giants Juventus have turned their attentions towards the Spanish international after being warned away from Juan Mata, as reported by the Daily Star.

Both Liverpool and Arsenal are thought to be keen on the wing wizard, who has become a firm fixture in Barcelona’s first team in recent seasons, ever since the appointment of Pep Guardiola as first team coach.

However, the arrival of Luis Suarez has threatened to curtail his game time to an extent that he cannot accept going forward. He faces stiff competition from the likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar as well for his preferred attacking positions, and it seems unlikely that he will play a significant number of games this season.

This has seen him consider ending a career long association with the Catalan club, and both Arsenal and Liverpool are thought to be interested in signing him for around £15 million, although they now face competition from Juventus to do so, suggesting the task will no longer be easy.

Reports: Liverpool And Arsenal To Wage War For 27-Year-Old Wing Wizard In January

Barcelona winger Pedro could be willing to depart the Nou Camp in January if he does not feature more regularly for the first team in the coming months, as reported by the Daily Express.

With the forward considered to be nothing more than a backup player at the gigantic Catalan club, reports in Spain are now of the belief that he could move elsewhere, if the right offer comes in.

The situation could yet get worse for Pedro, who might see Luis Suarez, on the cusp of returning from his extended suspension, leapfrog him in the pecking order, making it even less likely that he will start on a regular basis.

Arsenal are thought to have tried to sign Pedro in the past, and it would not be a surprise if Arsene Wenger went back in for the player, who is now more willing to listen to proposals.

However, Liverpool will give them competition, and Brendan Rodgers is said to see the player as an ideal player for his side at Anfield.
