Chelsea & Man Utd Blow As Midfield Maestro Target Starts Contract Talks

Chelsea have been dealt a blow in their quest for former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, as the French international midfielder has confirmed that he has entered into contract talks with his current club, Juventus, as reported by the Daily Express.

Pogba has also been consistently linked with a move back to Old Trafford since the start of the summer, although it now looks as though he will remain with the Old Lady of Turin for the foreseeable future, if he can agree a new contract with the club.

The extent to which Pogba has shined since he departed Old Trafford can be seen by the fact he won the Young Player of the Tournament at this summer’s World Cup in Brazil.

Pogba has gone on to become a key player at Juve, who have won Serie A in both seasons since his arrival on a free transfer from Manchester United in 2012.

He is expected to receive a boost in wages in his new deal, which would run until 2019, going from £1.2 million to £3.6 million.

He told TF1: “We are in negotiations for a contract renewal with Juventus.

“I will soon have a meeting with the board of directors.

“I have the arrogance of a born winner.”

Disappointment For Man Utd And Chelsea As Dynamo Commits Future To Club

Former Manchester United wonderkid Paul Pogba has committed his future to Italian giants Juventus, despite interest from the likes of Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester City. He has also been heavy linked with a return to Old Trafford this summer, as reported by the Daily Star.

Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport is reporting that the French international, who starred at this summer’s World Cup, is set to agree a new contract with the winners of the Scudetto, which will keep him at the club until 2018.

His new contract will earn him £2.5 million a year, which the 21-year-old could have increased significantly if he had moved to one of the clubs interested in his signature.

Pogba infamously left Man Utd in 2012 to join Juventus, having struggled to impose himself on the first team. He has since gone on to become one of the most highly rated midfielders in world football, to the extent that he won the award for Young Player of the Tournament at this summer’s World Cup.

His departure was considered one of the great mistakes of Alex Ferguson’s later reign at Old Trafford, and there were suggestions that they were interested in re-signing him this summer. Chelsea had also maintained an interest, along with City.
