Manchester United are on the cusp of sealing a huge double swoop for Argentinian international duo Enzo Perez and Nicolas Otamendi, as reported by the Daily Express.
The Old Trafford club have been incredibly disappointing since the start of the season, despite spending significant amounts of money in the summer transfer window.
As a result, Louis van Gaal is incredibly keen to reinforce the most obviously weak sections of his squad in the winter transfer window, his defence and his midfield.
Van Gaal is known to be a huge fan of Perez, who would fit in to his preferred 4-4-2 diamond formation perfectly when lining up on the right hand side.
Valencia defender Otamendi could also move to MAnchester in the winter.
A combined move for both players will cost the Red Devils around £64 million.
It will cost £23.5 million to meet Perez’s release clause, and Otamendi will cost £40 million.
