Chelsea Starlet Denied First Ever PL Start By Freak Injury

Chelsea starlet Nathaniel Chalobah has been denied a first ever Premier League start by a freak injury suffered in Burnley’s Under 21 clash against Hull City on Tuesday night, as reported by the Daily Express.

The youngster has spent the last few seasons on loan with clubs in the Championship, but finally received an opportunity to play Premier League football when Burnley came calling this summer.

The player had to be rushed to the hospital on Tuesday after facing an unfortunate accidental blow in the game against Hull.

As a result, he has also been forced to pull out of England’s Under 21 squad for the European Championship play-off against Croatia.

Having made his first Premier League appearance in the game against West Brom last weekend, which Burnley lost 4-0, Chalobah was in line to start against Leicester this weekend, but is now set to miss out.

It would have been a first start in the top flight for the Chelsea loanee.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche said: “He got a really bad knock and the swelling closed up the breathing pathway.

“We’ve been told that he can’t play. It’s a strange injury but a nasty one.”

19-Year-Old Chelsea Starlet Ready To Shine In Premier League

Chelsea youngster Nathaniel Chalobah is ready to shine for his new loan side Burnley, but he has not yet given up on his hopes of making an impact at Stamford Bridge over the coming seasons, as reported by the Daily Star.

With a huge line up of midfielders ahead of him at the west London club, it is not surprise that Chalobah has headed out on loan again to find first team football.

Having spent time on loan with the likes of Watford, Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough, all in the Championship, Chalobah is now stepping up to the top flight in his quest for football action, having joined Sean Dyche’s Burnley side.

Chalobah said: “It’s going to be a great experience. Everyone watches the Premier League and it’s every boy’s dream to play in the Premier League, so I’m just waiting for my chance.

“The manager has a good relationship with all the players at Chelsea and thinks highly of us. You definitely don’t get forgotten.

“There are people coming to watch your games and phone us and there are clips available of our games and what we need to do to put us in a good position when you go back to Chelsea.

“To try and come here and give a good impression could obviously put me in a better position when I go back.”

With Burnley looking to pick up a first win of the season, having been promoted from the Championship last year, Chalobah could appear against Crystal Palace.

The youngster does, however, still feel as though there is a chance he could go on to make an impact at Chelsea in the years to come.

The 19-year-old added: “I’m a Chelsea player for the next few years and I’m always going to have that belief I can play for Chelsea, that’s not going to change.

“I think for every youngster at the club it’s always good to have that belief you can break into the team.

“There are world-class names playing and it is always going to be difficult.

“That’s not to say you should give up on it, but you’re training and going out on loan to impress, and you never know.

“There are still youngsters there who could get a chance there this year, so anything is possible.”
