Man Utd Hold Talks With Goalscoring Ace – reports

Manchester United used the return of winger Nani with Portugal to Old Trafford last week to discuss his future with the club, as reported by the Daily Star.

The Portuguese international appeared in the 1-0 win against Argentina hosted at Man Utd’s stadium.

The 27 year old is currently on loan with Sporting Lisbon.

Since his return to his former side, he’s been in excellent form, scoring five goals in 16 matches.

This means that the Portuguese giants want him back on a permanent basis.

While Man Utd have no issue with moving the tricky wide player on, financial issues are holding the deal up.

Discussions after the win were intended to move that along.

There is an issue with Nani’s staggering £100,000 salary at Man Utd, which is too much for Sporting to consider paying.

But they also require the Old Trafford club to lower their £16 million valuation of the once highly rated talent.

Man Utd Star Unsettled Over Lack Of Opportunities

Manchester United winger Nani has admitted that he is unsettled at the Old Trafford club over the lack of first team opportunities that he has been granted over the last year, putting his future at the club into doubt, as reported by the Daily Star.

The Portuguese international moved to Sporting Lisbon in the summer as part of the big money move that led to Marcos Rojo joining the Red Devils.

That deal is only temporary, however, and the assumption was that Nani would return to Man Utd at the end of the season.

A new contract handed to Nani last season by manager David Moyes means that he has another four years to run on his contract.

The terms of his deal also mean the player earns a staggering £120,000 a week, which Man Utd are still paying.

Nani has been in blistering form at Sporting, and might not be too happy to return.

He said: “I am very happy how it is going at Sporting.

“That is what I wanted. I wanted to play more. I wanted to get back to my best and I wanted to enjoy my football.

“That is what is happening. It is going well. It has turned out very good for me. It has made me very confident again for the future.

“Yes I had to get away from United to achieve this. I saw the opportunities at United were going to be less for me so I had to make a choice.

“I had been at Old Trafford for a long time, for seven years, and I think I needed a little time away to understand and find my confidence again.

“I am enjoying my game again. Football is the best thing in my life.

“Football has given me everything and I when I play I really enjoy myself so I want to play all the time.

“That wasn’t happening at United. When I don’t play I am very disappointed.”

Club Chief: Star Set For Man Utd Return Next Summer

Former Sporting Lisbon director Paulo De Alvandro has revealed that there is absolutely no way Nani won’t be returning to Manchester United in the summer, as reported by the Daily Mirror.

Nani was sent out on loan to the Portuguese giants in the summer as part of Marcos Rojo’s transfer to Old Trafford.

It was said at the time that Louis van Gaal did not particularly rate the winger, who has struggled to impress since arriving in Manchester.

His inconsistent displays meant hat no one was particularly concerned when he departed in the summer, but recent displays for Sporting have suggested that Man Utd have missed out this year.

With the Red Devils struggling in the Premier League, Nani has picked up form back in his homeland.

He has scored six times in 13 appearances since his move on loan.

As a result, De Alvandro told Portuguese paper A Bola that Nani was undoubtedly going to return, saying: “It is inevitable that Manchester United will want the player back at the end of the season.

“Van Gaal will be sorry to not have gambled on him sooner.”
