Tottenham Boss Reveals Woes Over 24-Year-Old Star’s Fitness

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that he has no idea when Kyle Walker will return to full fitness, with the England international having not played a single game for the White Hart Lane club since March of this year, as reported by the Daily Star.

He suffered an abdominal injury at the time, and sadly missed out on England’s World Cup campaign in Brazil as a result, where he would have almost certainly have been involved, given his importance in qualification.

The right back is definitely set to miss out on Spurs’s Europa League tie against Besiktas tonight, and Pochettino cannot put a timescale on the talented star’s return for the north London side.

Pochettino said: “At the moment it is impossible to give you the date. It is a good recovery at the moment.

“We are happy but it’s impossible to predict the time, when he is maybe ready to train with the team and to start to play.”

Should Walker continue to have problems with his fitness, Spurs might be tempted to bring American international DeAndre Yedlin back from loan, having allowed him to rejoin the Seattle Sounders after signing him for a £4 million fee in the summer.

Spurs Boss “Angry” At Display Against West Brom

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has reacted with disappointment and anger at his side’s display against West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League on Sunday, as reported by BBC Sport.

Spurs slumped to a 1-0 home loss against the Baggies, who have struggled somewhat under the management of Alan Irvine.

Pochettino’s troops could not turn decent early season form into another result, and conceded as a result of a set piece.

He said: “I’m disappointed and angry. I think we had a very bad day.

“We played very, very slow. We need to be more alive and play quick. We didn’t create too much. We made a big mistake on the set-piece.”

The Europa League excursions of Spurs in mid week could have had an impact, although very few of the side who played today also featured in Belgrade on Thursday night.

Pochettino’s club signed very few players in the summer, choosing instead for the Argentine manager to try and better integrate the players that they signed under Andres Villas Boas.

West Brom are one of the favourite sides for relegation this season, and have struggled to put together form since the start of the new campaign.

Spurs Boss Pochettino Blasts Anti Semitic Displays At Game

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has condemned the behaviour of the fans of Partizan Belgrade in last night’s clash between them and the north London club, with their fans having displayed clear anti Semitic banners during the clash against Spurs, as reported by the Daily Star.

A photograph from the home end in the clash shows a banner being held aloft by the Serbian club’s fans, which, in a supposed parody of television show Only Fools and Horses, read “Only Jews and Pussies”.

Spurs are regularly the target of anti Semitic abuse at football grounds by fans of the opposition, due to a supposed significant Jewish following, although it is incredibly debatable as to whether they have any greater a Jewish following than many other clubs in the country.

Even so, the banner was incredibly offensive, and UEFA are set to investigate the incident further today.

Pochettino himself was appalled at the act, saying: “I didn’t see but the club is aware. And if it is true, that it is very disrespectful.

“It is a shame as it was a great atmosphere. It is very disrespectful, unacceptable and a massive problem for us.”
