Martin Odegaard is likely to join either Liverpool or Arsenal if he chooses to move to the Premier League during the January transfer window, as reported by the Daily Express.
However, there is no guarantee that he will wind up in England when the window slams shut at the end of the month.
Odegaard is currently touring Europe, visiting many of the continent’s top clubs as he chooses where he will move from Stromsgodset.
Two of the clubs he has already visited are Liverpool and Arsenal, and the 16 year old is known to be a boyhood fan of the Anfield club.
He has also been linked with the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea.
However, Norwegian journalist Marius Skelbaek believes that should he move to England, he will end up at either the Emirates Stadium or Anfield.
Bayern Munich and Real are, however, thought to be leading the race for him.
Skelbaek said: “I think he is going to be sold this month because his club needs the money and he only has one year left on his contract.
“Dutch football could suit him right now and a lot of young players from Denmark and Sweden go to clubs like Ajax, Feyenoord or PSV and do great.
“But it is possible he will move to England. He has been visiting all the big clubs in the Premier League. He is a big Liverpool fan. They are his and his father’s favourite club.
“So who knows? Maybe he could sign for Arsenal, Liverpool, Bayern Munich or Real Madrid.”
