£27m Man Utd Star Expects Opportunities Under Van Gaal

Manchester United misfit Marouane Fellaini has confirmed that he will be granted opportunities under boss Louis van Gaal, denying the rumours that surfaced this summer suggesting that he was on the cusp of being forced out by the Dutch manager, as reported by the Metro.

Van Gaal supposedly compiled a list of names of potential departures from the club, with Fellaini regularly referred to as one of the players who the former Netherlands manager was happy to see depart.

However, Fellaini has said that this was never the situation.

The Belgian international is on the cusp of returning from an injury that has taken him out of the first part of the new season, and believes he will be given a chance to impress in Van Gaal’s new look side.

He said to Sport Werald: “I talked to Van Gaal and he has never said that I had to leave.

“He said I had a lot of competition, but that I will get the chance to prove myself.

“I have known difficult moments like last season, but you become a stronger player afterwards. I have confidence in myself and in my game again.

“I played a good World Cup and also during the preparation, I was good. It is unfortunate that this injury has thrown spanner in the works, but at the end of the month I will be back.”

Fellaini joined Man Utd from Everton for £27m on deadline day last season, and came to symbolise David Moyes’ unsuccessful spell in charge of the club.

£27m Man Utd Flop Insists He Will Win His Place Back

Despite his struggles since joining Manchester United in a £27 million move from Everton on deadline day at the end of August last season, Marouane Fellaini has insisted that he will find his way back into Louis van Gaal’s best side, as reported by the Daily Star.

Fellaini was consistently linked with a move to Italian side Napoli during the summer, but an ankle injury made it difficult for the move to be completed, assuming Man Utd wanted to sell him.

Treatment in Belgium has seen Fellaini near full fitness finally, and the international, who represented his country at this summer’s World Cup, is convinced that he has the talent to steal other players’ places in Van Gaal’s preferred starting eleven.

Man Utd have signed three players who can play in Fellaini’s preferred central midfield role this summer, in Ander Herrera, Daley Blind and Angel Di Maria, but aside from that, Fellaini is convinced that he can find a way into the team.

He said: “I want to fight for my place. The coach wants to play with the eleven players who make the best team. I want to be part of that.

‘I’ve had a meeting with the coach before the start of the season where he told me that there is a lot of competition in the midfield.

“I told him that I wanted to compete for a place in the starting eleven.”

£27.5m Man Utd Flop Big Part Of Van Gaal’s Plans – Reports

Marouane Fellaini has had a discussion with Louis van Gaal over his Manchester United future, and it seems as though the Dutch manager is planning to make the Belgian international a key part of his side in the future, as reported by the Daily Star.

The midfielder has struggled horribly since David Moyes bought him from Everton for £27.5 million last season, with the weight of a big money deadline day move weighing him down.

Fellaini did not score last season, and has begun the new season on the sidelines after suffering an ankle injury.

Belgian news sources are now reporting that Van Gaal has discussed the future with Fellaini, however, and clarified that he believes the giant will have a future at Old Trafford.

He even went as far as to say that Fellaini would become an integral part of the side.

Fellaini was consistently linked with a move to Napoli this summer, but he now seems likely to get a chance to shine upon his return in three weeks time.
