Chelsea To Use £50m Ace As Bargaining Chip In £20m Deal – reports

Chelsea are prepared to use Stamford Bridge flop Fernando Torres in any deal to sign Malcom Silva in an attempt to beat Barcelona to the talented Brazilian.

Torres has struggled with Chelsea since his stunning £50 million transfer to them, and has spent the first half of the season on loan at AC Milan.

However, he has made very few appearances for the Italian club, and looks set to return to Chelsea when the transfer window reopens on January 1.

Chelsea are interested in signing Malcom, who has apparently been valued at £20 million by Corinthians in order to deter any potential suitors from the 17 year old.

They have decided that they are likely to lose Malcom to one of his many suitors in January, however, and Brazilian outlet R7 are reporting that they are looking to have Torres in place as his replacement.

A deal would have to be confirmed before the start of the Copa Libertadores, which begins in February 2015.

Torres will not be involved at all if he returns to Chelsea and stays there, according to Jose Mourinho.

Chelsea Enter Battle With Arsenal Over £20m Sensation – reports

Chelsea have joined a huge selection of clubs in targeting Brazilian forward Malcom Silva.

The striker, who plays for Corinthians, has been identified as a possible star of the future, and as a result, several of Europe’s largest clubs have been linked with a possible move for him.

Both Arsenal and Manchester United have been identified as possible destinations for Silva, according to reports.

It has also been claimed that Barcelona possess a first option on the 17 year old star.

According to the Mirror, however, Chelsea are now back in contention for Silva’s signature, and are looking to their Brazilian boys to tempt him into a Stamford Bridge switch.

The likes of Filipe Luis, Oscar, Ramires and Willian already play for the Blues.

Corinthians are keen to keep Silva, and have slapped a £20 million price tag on him.

Should any bid match that level, however, it would be very difficult for them to keep hold of the talented wonderkid.

Our verdict

It would not be unlike Chelsea to target a young player, looking several years down the line. However, Silva is likely to get more experience from the off at the likes of Arsenal and Man Utd, should a move go through.
