Revealed: Arsenal Star Is Thinking About Departure

Lukas Podolski has suggested that he is considering his future with Arsenal, having found first team opportunities with the north London club limited since the start of the new season, as reported by the Daily Express.

The World Cup winner has made only two appearances from the bench in the Premier League this campaign, and his only start came in the League Cup game against Southampton, which the Gunners lost 2-1 at home.

Podolski was repeatedly linked with a move away in the summer, but it never came to fruition.

Despite previous statements, Podolski has now admitted that he could yet be on his way out of the club.

He said: “I am a full blooded player, a street player and I love competition. If I don’t have this competition every weekend then a change must occur.

“We will have to see. But it is certainly something one has to think about.”

Podolski has been a consistent feature in the German national side, winning a staggering 118 caps, but has never really imposed himself on a domestic level.

A move to Bayern Munich in 2006, for example, saw him struggle to put together form, and Arsenal have never seen the best of him on a consistent basis.

Arsenal Star Questions Manager’s Trust In Him

World Cup winner Lukas Podolski has hit out at Arsene Wenger, saying that he is perfect for Arsenal but that he remains unsure if the manager has any trust in him as a player, as reported by the Daily Star.

The German striker sees himself as a perfect fit for the style of play that the north London club play, but feels he is being shifted even further down the pecking order after a summer of big money transfers at the club.

The deadline day arrival of Danny Welbeck for £16 million threatens to displace him even further in his two positions, up front or out-wide on the left.

Podolski does insist, however, that he won’t stop working hard in order to break back into the first team and impose himself on the starting line up.

He said: “Initially, it’s a difficult situation for me. When you buy new players for a lot of money they have an advantage because they will play.

“But we’ve got a long season ahead of us, and we’ll see what happens.

“When I am in top shape, I am a perfect fit for the Arsenal team. And I see myself in the first XI then, that’s what I work towards.”

Regarding whether he still possessed the manager’s trust, Podolski said: “I am not sure, I hope that that’s the case.”

However, Podolski has revealed that he and the rest of the squad are very much targeting the title in the coming season.

Podolski added: “The title is not a dream, it’s possible. But there are five or six other teams with similar thoughts. It will be down to the details in the end.

“We only won six points in the matches against the other top five clubs.

“Those were the points that cost us the title. We were in front for half a year, but dropped decisive points against Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool towards the end. We need to change that this year.”

4 Reasons Why Community Shield Win Shows Arsenal Could Win PL

Arsenal’s dominating display in the Community Shield clash against Manchester City yesterday has got the Gunners faithful excited for the coming season, with many now believing that the north London club can now make a concerted tilt at the Premier League title, with the hope being that they can win it for the first time since 2004.

Wenger’s Arsenal side have been consistent challengers for the last 10 years, but they have never truly threatened to win it. Their recent lack of spending power as a result of the Emirates Stadium build has hindered them somewhat in recruitment, but this no longer seems to be an issue.

While the Community Shield game is only a friendly, in principle, it was a fairly hotly contested game between two top Premier League sides. Click the images below and run through the gallery to reveal four reasons why yesterday’s win suggests Arsenal could yet be true challengers this season.
