Arsenal Star Admits Desire For Talks For His Future

Arsenal star Lukas Podolski has admitted that he wants to hold talks with manager Arsene Wenger over his future with the Emirates Stadium club, as reported by the Daily Express.

Wenger has used Podolski incredibly infrequently since the start of the new season, and the German international is not particularly happy about his lack of football.

Podolski has made only one start in the Premier League this term.

Arsenal’s struggling start to the new campaign was compounded by a 2-1 loss against Manchester United on Saturday.

The defeat came under relatively bizarre circumstances, with the Gunners dominating the clash for large swathes of the action.

They suffered an own goal by Kieran Gibbs, however, and from there collapsed to a painful home defeat against one of their traditional rivals.

Podolski was, once again, an unused substitute in the loss, and has admitted to his frustration and need to talk to the long term boss of the north London side.

He said: “I have to try to talk with Arsene Wenger. I want a fair chance.

“I love London, I like the club, but I do not like the situation. I’m not a clown.”

Huge Blow As Arsenal Star Reveals He Wants Talks Over His Future

Arsenal star Lukas Podolski has revealed that he wants to hold talks with boss Arsene Wenger in the January transfer window over his future, as reported by the Daily Express.

Podolski also hinted that should the outcome of the talks turn out to be unsatisfactory, he would look to leave the Emirates Stadium during the winter window.

The German international has reason to be unhappy with his lot in north London, having made only eight appearances for the Gunners since the start of the new season.

In fact, Podolski is yet to start a single game in the Premier League, a huge comedown from his exploits in the summer, when he won the World Cup with Germany in Brazil.

It is becoming increasingly clear that Wenger might not have any faith in Podolski.

As a result, the player has admitted he will look to hold talks with Wenger in the near future.

“Of course I’m not happy when I’m not playing,” Podolski said.

“I want to be playing and enjoying my football. We’ll have to see what happens this winter.

“I’m going to seek talks with my club then, but there’s no pressure.”

Arsenal Boss Hails Misfit After Telling Contribution

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has hailed his club’s forgotten man Lukas Podolski after the World Cup winner made a telling contribution in the side’s 2-1 victory against Anderlecht yesterday, as reported by the Daily Star.

It was Wenger’s birthday yesterday, with the French manager turning 65, but Anderlecht almost spoiled his big day.

The Belgian side went ahead through Andy Najar, with a win possibly hurting Arsenal’s hopes of progressing in the Champions League.

However, Kieran Gibbs struck in the 89th minute to bring things level, and Podolski had a telling impact from the bench, scoring a late winner and helping Wenger to an important victory.

The German international has been consistently linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium, with arch rivals Spurs said to be considering a £10 million move for him.

Wenger said: “Poldolski we know can always score. He is frustrated and I understand that of course. But he’s important as well and he showed that tonight and he will be important in the coming months.

“It took him a while to get back to a good physical level [after the World Cup], and now he’s nearly there. He was never close to leaving in the summer.

“He has 115 caps for Germany, that is not a coincidence. That shows you the quality. I think he is a guy you want to have the ball in the box.

“His shot is fantastic, his accuracy is great and he has very short backlift. He nearly scored before and I know when he comes on, he can score.

“It was a nice end to a game. I had hope. It didn’t look like it would happen, but it did and that means we took all the risks and in the end it paid off. It was vital for us to have a chance to qualify. We are in a strong position now. It’s down to us now. Win our home games and we are through.

“The group is in our hands. Let’s first qualify and see how far we can go.”

Arsenal now sit second in Group D, trailing leaders Borussia Dortmund by three points after their huge victory against Galatasaray last night.
