Arsenal Watch £15m Rated Elegant Defender – reports

Arsenal have sent scouts out to watch Monaco’s left back Layvin Kurzawa.

The Gunners are keen to improve their defensive options heading into the January transfer window, and as a result, have targeted Kurzawa.

Arsene Wenger’s side have shown little resistance to attacks in recent weeks, with the defence collapsing entirely on Saturday as they lost 3-2 to Stoke City.

The result could have been far worse, with Stoke three goals ahead by half time and Bojan Krckic having a goal ruled out in questionable circumstances.

As a result, Wenger has sent former star Gilles Grimandi to run the rule over the 22 year old defender.

Should Grimandi return with positive feedback on Kurzawa, Arsenal would be likely to make a bid for the £15 million rated star, according to the Daily Mail.

Despite the significant criticism of Wenger and Arsenal in recent weeks, the north London side have already qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League.

PL Rivals To Pip Chelsea And Man Utd To Starlet – reports

Manchester City are set to step up their efforts to sign Monaco youngster Layvin Kurzawa, as reported by the Daily Star.

This would put them in direct competition with both Chelsea and Manchester United, who have both targeted the talented 22 year old star.

Reports in France suggest that Kurzawa was welcomed as a guest by City on Tuesday night to watch their match against Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich.

City won that match 3-2 in dramatic circumstances, giving them a fighting chance of progressing to the knockout stages of the Champions League, a competition they have struggled in in recent years.

Kurzawa has been tracked by a series of top sides in Europe, including Man Utd and Chelsea, with Man Utd said to have been tracking him since David Moyes’ time in charge of the club.

However, a move for any side will not be easy, with Kurzawa having recently signed a new deal with Monaco to keep him at the club until 2018.
