Spurs Target Ex-Leeds Starlet For January Swoop – reports

Tottenham Hotspur are planning a January move for Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delph, with the hope of snatching the former Leeds United man on a cut price deal, as reported by the Daily Mirror.

There is significant interest in the England international as a result of his contractual situation with the Midlands side.

His deal with the Villains expires at the end of the current season, and there is no indication that the player is willing to sign a new contract.

Villa have offered him a four year deal which, with incentives, could be worth up to £50,000 a week, but Delph has turned it down.

They therefore believe that Delph will leave at the end of the season.

As a result, Spurs might look to him to improve their struggling side.

Daniel Levy has seen manager Mauricio Pochettino struggle since taking over, and could snap Delph up to aid the team by paying a nominal fee.

Arsenal Seek To Snap Up Exciting PL Ball Winning Midfielder For Free – reports

Aston Villa face a fight to keep newly capped England star Fabian Delph, with Arsenal keen on his signature at the end of the season, as reported by the Daily Mirror.

The player’s contract expires in the summer, and despite being offered a bumper new deal by the Midlands club, Delph has not put pen to paper.

This has put Arsenal on red alert, who feel as though they can sensationally swoop and get him on a free transfer at the end of the season.

There is also interest from Everton manager Roberto Martinez, who also rates the young star.

Delph would be an ideal fit for the Emirates Stadium club, who lack a ball winning midfielder like the former Leeds United star.

While manager Arsene Wenger has previously tried to move for the likes of Spurs target Morgan Schneiderlin to fill that gap, it now seems as though he has his eyes on another solution.

England Confirmed XI: £16m Arsenal Star Set To Lead The Line

England have confirmed their starting eleven for their clash with Switzerland tonight, the first of their Euro 2016 qualifiers ahead of the possible campaign in France.

New Arsenal star Danny Welbeck is set to lead the line after the injury suffered by Daniel Sturridge in the clash against Norway last week. Welbeck moved to Arsenal for £16 million on deadline day.

Wayne Rooney is also included despite the questions over his form recently. The new England captain did scored against Norway, but it was from the penalty spot, and there were doubts about his overall display against a team that are not ranked highly in world football.

There is also a proud moment for fans of Aston Villa and Leeds United as Fabian Delph makes his first start for England after playing well in the friendly game last week. Delph is another graduate of Leeds’s famed academy, and his inclusion comes after good form for Villa in the Premier League in recent months.
