Paris Saint Germain striker Edinson Cavani has admitted that a switch to Arsenal or Liverpool in the near future could be possible, as reported by the Daily Express.
The Uruguayan international has struggled to settle in since his move to the French giants, and therefore has been consistently linked with a move to the likes of the two Premier League sides, along with Manchester United.
However, a move has not yet come off, despite considerable links in the summer.
The ex-Napoli forward has insisted that he wants to stay with Paris Saint Germain, but did admit that, given how football works, he could soon find himself moving to another side.
He told Telefoot: “I am good at Paris. And I like it.
“In football we never know what is going to happen the next season, or the next day.
“There are lots of things that could happen in a club.”
This would be something of a boost to both Liverpool and Arsenal, who, despite signing Mario Balotelli and Danny Welbeck respectively, are still believed to be in the market for another striker in the January transfer window, with Cavani, who cost PSG £55m, now a possible target.
Paris Saint Germain striker Edinson Cavani has reportedly chosen Arsenal as his next destination, as reported by fichajes.net.
The Uruguayan international striker is very keen to leave PSG in the winter transfer window.
Cavani has failed to settle at the French giants since his transfer last summer, which saw him join them for €55 million from Napoli.
He has regularly been played out of position, wide on the right, in order to accommodate Zlatan Ibrahimovic through the centre.
This has seen him fail to reach his previous heights, and as a result, the player is becoming increasingly unsettled.
It initially seemed as though Cavani would depart in the summer, but manager Laurent Blanc convinced him to do otherwise.
Arsene Wenger now needs approval from the club’s hierarchy in order to make a big money move for the talented striker, with the belief that Cavani would almost certainly accept a move, given his desire to join Arsenal.
Paris Saint Germain striker Edison Cavani is reportedly willing to listen to offers from other clubs, having found himself unsettled at the Ligue 1 side in recent months, as reported by fichajes.net.
This could open up a move to either Liverpool or Arsenal, both of whom have been linked with moves for the Uruguayan hot shot in the past.
Both clubs are missing a high quality striker, although Liverpool do have Daniel Sturridge, whose imminent return from injury will provide a huge boost for the Anfield club.
Arsenal signed Danny Welbeck at the end of the summer transfer window, and also have Olivier Giroud, but the north London side have been looking for a top level striker in recent seasons to help them step up another level.
They would have to spend big to acquire Cavani, however, with PSG having paid £55 million for his services only last summer.
Cavani is reportedly unsettled after being repeatedly played out of position to accommodate Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
