Man Utd and Euro giants chase £70m Chelsea ace – reports

In what must stand as one of the least likely rumours of the weekend, Manchester United have apparently entered the race for Eden Hazard.

Yes, that Eden Hazard. Yes, the one who plays for Chelsea.

According to the Daily Star, Man Utd are looking to take advantage of Hazard’s rift with Jose Mourinho to bring him to Old Trafford. Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester City are also thought to be preparing bids.

It’d cost them £70 million to take him away from Chelsea.

Would it work?

Is this even really a question?

Of course Hazard would improve pretty much any team he played for, at least as long as his manager is not Jose Mourinho in the middle of a sulk.

He’s one of the world’s best attacking players, and was integral as Chelsea won the league last season.

Given Manchester United are currently marooning Anthony Martial out-wide, it would make incredible sense for the Old Trafford club to have Hazard as an option and move the talented young French star to the middle, where he is most effective.

Real would see Hazard as a long-term replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, who it cannot be forgotten is over 30.

Barcelona could add Hazard to an already devastating front line.

However, it’s absolutely ludicrous to think Chelsea would let Hazard join a title rival.

He’s their best player by a long way, despite his current feud with Mourinho.

It seems incredibly unlikely that Roman Abramovich would sanction his sale, and he’s more likely to get rid of Mourinho before the Belgian is allowed to leave Stamford Bridge.

Given Chelsea’s current form, that seems all the more likely.

No chance.

Euro Giants Chase Move For Key Chelsea Wing Wizard – reports

Real Madrid are supposedly chasing down Chelsea’s ace forward Eden Hazard.

The Belgian international is reportedly on the cusp of agreeing a new deal with the Stamford Bridge club, which would give Hazard £41.6m over the course of the contract.

That deal would run until the end of the 2019 season.

However, Spanish giants Real are hoping to scupper those plans.

They are hopeful of funding a big money move for the Chelsea star through selling former Tottenham Hotspurs man Gareth Bale to Manchester United for around £90 million.

Hazard would be an ideal replacement for Bale, who Man Utd have been chasing for an extended period of time.

Hazard has also been a long term target for the Champions League winners.

Real manager Carlo Ancelotti, who previously managed the Blues, leading them to a Premier League and FA Cup double, is thought to be a big fan of Hazard.

This could push through any planned raid of his former side, according to the Daily Star.

Chelsea Close In On £41.6m Deal – reports

Chelsea are on the cusp of agreeing a new deal with forward Eden Hazard, extending his deal with the club until 2019.

The Blues would hand the Belgian international a huge £200,000 to extend his stay with the club into the foreseeable future.

Should Hazard stay at the club until 2019, that deal would net him a staggering £41.6 million in wages.

Hazard’s existing deal runs until 2017, but there are fears about interest from Paris Saint Germain and Real Madrid.

PSG made their interest in Hazard formal in the summer, making two bids, both of which were turned down by the west London club.

This means that the Stamford Bridge club are keen to tie him down to the club into the future and give him an incentive to stay.

Blues boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed to the press that the club are close to agreeing a deal with the player.

Three months of talk seem to have worked for Chelsea, who will undoubtedly see Hazard as an integral figure as they try to win the Premier League.

Mourinho said: “There are no problems. It will happen soon, but I’m not worried because they are almost there.

“He is not worried about ‘almost’. The club knows that ‘almost’ will become ‘done’, no problem.”
