Arsenal Star: Wenger Can Get More From Welbeck Than Ferguson

Arsenal’s injured star Theo Walcott has said that his new teammate Danny Welbeck will definitely play better for the north London club than he did for his boyhood club Manchester United, and thinks his manager will get more out of him than his previous bosses did, as reported by the Daily Star.

Walcott praised Welbeck, who he has played with before for the England national team, and said that he is a good person to have on your side, both on and off the pitch.

Despite the £16 million star being previously managed by Alex Ferguson, who is regarded as one of the best managers of all time, Walcott thinks that Arsene Wenger will get even more out of him.

He said: “He’s going to be better for us than he was at Man Utd, definitely.

“He’ll get more opportunities and he’s got a point to prove.

“I know he’s worked hard and he’s still very young, and I think the boss will enjoy working with him.

“The fans definitely will [enjoy watching him] – he’s very exciting and he’s very strong.

“I’ve worked with Danny for England and we link up very well.

“He’s another English guy and we’ve got a good English core now. He’s a very good guy and a very hard worker.

“Off the pitch he’s very relaxed and likes to get involved in anything.

“He fits perfectly into Arsenal, which is such a big family club where everyone’s together. He’ll fit straight in here.”

A deadline day move saw Welbeck move from Old Trafford, where he began his career, and join the Emirates Stadium club on a five year deal. Many Man Utd heroes of the past have questioned the sale, as have fans.

Arsenal Legend: New Arsenal Star Can Be The Next Thierry Henry

Arsenal great and former academy head Liam Brady has backed new £16 million signing Danny Welbeck to replicate the career path of former Arsenal goalscoring hero Thierry Henry, as reported by The Metro.

Henry joined Arsenal having spent time at AS Monaco and Juventus, but few could have predicted how his career would develop while he was in north London. He had primarily been used as a winger on the continent, but Arsene Wenger decided to mould him into a striker, and he went on to become arguably the greatest forward in the history of the Premier League thus far.

Welbeck is expected to make his Arsenal debut this weekend against last season’s Premier League winners Manchester City, having scored twice during the week for England.

Brady, who remains close to Wenger, feels that Arsenal have done some exceptional business in securing the former Manchester United man, and feels he could go on to be as great as Henry.

He said: “I’m delighted he’s signed for Arsenal.

“Arsene Wenger’s track record with young players is strong. Look at Henry – when he came to Arsenal he was rough around the edges and was playing on the wing, like Welbeck.

“It took Henry time but Wenger polished him into a fine finisher and he can do the same with Welbeck.”

How This Arsenal Duo Snatched £16m Sensation Away From Spurs – reports

Arsenal’s captaincy duo of Mikel Arteta and his vice captain Per Mertesacker are reported to have played a huge role in convincing Arsene Wenger and the club to confirm the deadline day signing of former Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck, as revealed by the Daily Star.

Having heard that only north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur were targeting the striker, the pair decided that they would petition the club to bring Welbeck in to the club in a multi million pound move.

Welbeck almost immediately showed why the club have got themselves a bargain this summer by scoring two for England in their 2-0 win against Switzerland in Monday’s Euro 2016 qualifier.

Arteta and Mertesacker met Welbeck in Arsenal’s gym at the training ground, with the Man Utd player having been training there with England before their friendly against Norway.

The duo realised the Gunners could still sign Welbeck if they move fast.

They both informed Arsene Wenger, and the French manager decided to sanction a deadline day bid for the England international. Wenger had previously failed to secure any of his preferred striking targets, including Radamel Falcao or Wilfried Bony.

Without the two players getting involved, chances are that Welbeck would now be a Spurs player.
