Liverpool And Man Utd Keen On 23-Year-Old World Cup Winner

Both Manchester United and Liverpool were reportedly keen on bringing World Cup winning midfielder Christoph Kramer to the Premier League, but failed in their battle to bring the German star in before the transfer window shut, as reported by the Daily Express.

They were, however, challenged by Juventus and Atletico Madrid for his signature, with both the Italian and Spanish champions also keen to sign the Bayer Leverkusen star.

Kramer was forced to come off early on in the World Cup final, which his nation ultimately won 1-0 in extra time. He did, however, impress prior to that, and all four clubs have seen enough to suggest he might be a worthwhile addition.

Reports in Europe suggest there is significant interest in his signature, but the nature of Kramer’s current football might have halted interest.

He is currently on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach, and has been since the beginning of the 2013/14 season, with the loan set to end next summer.

Monchengladbach were keen to hold onto Kramer, despite Leverkusen being willing to sell.

Either Man Utd or Liverpool could yet declare their interest again when his loan spell at Monchengladbach ends next summer.
