Man Utd Set To Seal Signing Of 27-Year-Old Midfield Dynamo – reports

Having been given a financial boost in their end of year accounts, Manchester United are set to confirm the acquisition of oft mooted transfer target Arturo Vidal ahead of the January transfer window, as reported by The Metro.

Man Utd spent heavily this summer in an attempt to arrest the slump suffered last season under David Moyes, and despite significant additions in the centre of midfield, it seems that they remain interested in Vidal, who is regarded by many as one of the best central midfielders in world football today.

There were question marks over his knees ahead of the new season, although these fears seem to have been somewhat assuaged in the past few weeks.

With a record turnover of £433 million now confirmed in the club’s accounts, Louis van Gaal has been given a license to spend again, and with personal terms already agreed with Vidal, only a fee needs to be discussed with Juventus and the club will be able to secure his arrival for the beginning of 2015.

Man Utd Deny Any Interest In £64m Dynamic Midfield Duo – Reports

Manchester United have reportedly denied any interest in either Juventus’s Arturo Vidal or Sporting Lisbon’s William Carvalho, as reported by Daniel Taylor of The Guardian.

The Old Trafford club have been consistently linked with a move for Vidal, who would cost around £40m, throughout the summer, and he was seen as the ideal candidate to resolve their woeful midfield. While interest seemed to cool a few months ago, recent rumours suggested that Louis van Gaal, the recently appointed manager, had resumed his interest in the Chilean international. That no longer seems to be the case.

Carvalho, worth £24m, on the other hand, is a relatively recent link, but has also been interesting Arsenal throughout the window. The midfielder is cut from a slightly different cloth to Vidal, but would still offer a genuine force in the middle of the park that Man Utd are lacking heavily.

The Manchester side have failed to win any of their opening three games of the season, with Tuesday’s 4-0 loss against MK Dons representing a complete embarrassment for the club. William Grigg and Benik Afobe scored a brace apiece.

Vidal’s Agent To Meet With Board And Demand Man Utd Move Today – Report

According to Chilean newspaper El Mercurio, Arturo Vidal is set to send his agents to meet Juventus’ board today and demand a move to Manchester United, potentially ending a long running transfer saga in spectacular fashion.

Vidal has been regularly linked with a move to Manchester since the end of this summer’s World Cup, where he cemented his place as one of the top midfielders in world football today.

The Chilean international has impressed in recent seasons under the tutelage of Antonio Conte at Juventus, but the wildly successful manager resigned suddenly last month. He has since been replaced by Massimiliano Allegri, and since that point, there have been considerable questions over Vidal’s future.

Louis van Gaal is looking to restructure Man Utd’s squad after a season of disappointment under David Moyes. To that end, he has already signed Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera, but it would be surprising if Man Utd’s transfer activity for the summer ended there.
