Atletico Madrid have seemingly beaten Spurs to the signature of Real Sociedad wing wizard Antoine Griezmann, who will join last season’s La Liga winners for a fee of €30 million (£24 million), as reported by The Guardian
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino had hoped to bring Griezmann to White Hart Lane, making him the club’s third signing of the summer, but an agreement has been reached which, pending a medical, will see Griezmann move to the Spanish capital.
The talented wide player has developed a reputation as one of the best young players in his position in world football, something he backed up last season with a stupendous record of 16 goals.
Atletico revealed on their official website that they had matched his release clause from the Basque club, and have also agreed personal terms with the player to join their side.
Spurs will now be forced to turn to other targets to improve their side.
