Wenger Woe: 23-Year-Old Arsenal Dynamo Could Miss Out On Man City Clash

Arsenal’s star midfielder Aaron Ramsey could miss out on the tie against Premier League champions Manchester City after suffering a slight injury in Wales’s game with Andorra in mid-week, as reported by The Metro.

In fact, Gunners manager Arsene Wenger has rated his chances of being available for Saturday’s key clash as being only “a little”, which will leave Arsenal fans sweating over his availability.

Ramsey has developed into a key player for Arsenal in the last season, with his form in the first half of the last campaign suggesting that the Welsh midfielder was finally reaching the potential heights people had anticipated.

An unfortunate injury midway through the season stopped Ramsey’s momentum in its tracks, although he did go on to play a role in Arsenal’s FA Cup victory, scoring an important goal as the north London side went on to triumph against Hull City.

There are now fears that an ankle injury that Ramsey suffered on international duty, playing on a terrible pitch in Andorra, could rule him out of Arsenal’s game this weekend, a match they will be hoping to win if they want to challenge for the Premier League title this season.

Wenger said: “He [Ramsey] will be assessed today and he has a little chance to be available for Saturday.

“Will it be enough to be available for Saturday? We’ll know today.”

Arsenal Star: Cup Win Just Makes Us “Hungry For More Success”

Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey has declared that their FA Cup win at the end of last season has just made the north London club’s squad hungry for more success in the future, as reported by Wales Online.

Ramsey has started the new campaign off in terrific form, sustaining the same sort of performances that led to him being praised repeatedly in the first half of last season.

Arsenal had not won a trophy for nine years prior to their triumph in the showpiece finale against Hull City at Wembley stadium in May, and the quest for silverware had dominated the club’s narrative in recent seasons.

As to whether Arsenal’s squad are ready to rest on their laurels after managing to achieve, Ramsey offers a different answer entirely.

The Welsh international said: “Of course there’s that great buzz of winning something like that, but it does just make you hungry for more success.

“With Arsenal, after the years that went by with people saying you haven’t won anything for this number of years, then this number of years or whatever, to finally put that to bed and win something was important because it was something to build on. Winning just makes you more determined to go on and do more.”

Arsenal have strengthened considerably this summer, but there remain doubts about their options in defence and in midfield, with only two recognised senior central defenders available to manager Arsene Wenger.

4 Reasons Why Community Shield Win Shows Arsenal Could Win PL

Arsenal’s dominating display in the Community Shield clash against Manchester City yesterday has got the Gunners faithful excited for the coming season, with many now believing that the north London club can now make a concerted tilt at the Premier League title, with the hope being that they can win it for the first time since 2004.

Wenger’s Arsenal side have been consistent challengers for the last 10 years, but they have never truly threatened to win it. Their recent lack of spending power as a result of the Emirates Stadium build has hindered them somewhat in recruitment, but this no longer seems to be an issue.

While the Community Shield game is only a friendly, in principle, it was a fairly hotly contested game between two top Premier League sides. Click the images below and run through the gallery to reveal four reasons why yesterday’s win suggests Arsenal could yet be true challengers this season.
