£32m Target Refuses To Consider Man Utd Move This Month

Manchester United target Kevin Strootman has told the press that he has no interest in leaving current club Roma during the winter transfer window, as reported by the Daily Express.

The Old Trafford club are said to be lining up a £32 million bid for the Dutch midfielder this month.

This follows on from constant links in the press between Strootman and Man Utd, with Louis van Gaal thought to be a big fan of the 24 year old midfielder.

Van Gaal is thought to be hopeful of a reunion with Strootman in the near future, with the two having worked closely when Van Gaal was in charge of the Netherlands.

In fact, Strootman’s injury prior to the World Cup meant that Van Gaal completely rejigged his formation for the competition in Brazil.

While Man Utd expect to make a £32 million move, the ex-PSV Eindhoven midfielder has expressed his desire to stay at Roma.

“I want to play more, and return to my best level,” Strootman said.“I’ve signed up for five years, but so far I’ve only been playing for six or seven months. I want to play and help the team. That’s important to me.

“If I spoke about other clubs that would be disrespectful, and I don’t want to do that.”

Everton Can’t Afford £10m Man Utd Target – reports

Everton have been put off Celtic defender Virgil van Dijk in the January transfer window, after it was revealed that the Scottish club are not willing to part with their star player for anything less than £10 million, according to the Daily Express.

This could allow Manchester United to swoop for the elegant defender, who the Old Trafford club have been repeatedly linked with a move for.

They are joined by the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Southampton, Sunderland, West Bromwich Albion and Newcastle United in having an interest in signing him.

Everton’s opposition to the staggering fee can be seen by the fact that they have cancelled discussions with Celtic over signing him.

While this puts the larger clubs in the Premier League in the driving seat to bring him in, there is a belief that no one interested will be willing to front the huge sum that Celtic have requested for an integral player.

Man Utd Seek To Offload Misfit Duo In January – reports

Manchester United are keen to offload second choice goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard in the January transfer window, ahead of Victor Valdes’ arrival on a free transfer, as reported by the Daily Star.

The reserve shot stopper played a considerable amount of football in his first season, in part caused by the face David De Gea was suffering an indifferent spell of form.

However, with the departure of Alex Ferguson two summers ago, his opportunities have been increasingly limited.

Louis van Gaal is also believed to see Lindegaard as not up to the level expected of players at the Old Trafford club.

With Valdes now set to sign until the end of next season, his time at the Manchester club is seemingly over.

He could be one of two goalkeepers to leave this month.

Man Utd are willing to let Ben Amos, an academy graduate, leave, should a club decide to make an offer for him.
