Leeds Boss Refuses To Comment On Whether He Wants To Sign Beckford

Leeds United head coach Neil Redfearn has refused to comment on whether he wants to bring back club hero Jermaine Beckford to Elland Road, as reported by LUTV commentator Thom Kirwin.

The former Whites striker has had a torrid time since leaving Yorkshire in 2010.

He joined Premier League side Everton on a free transfer, but struggled to hit his previous heights and was sold to Leicester City in the summer as he was regaining form.

While at Leicester he fell out with manager Nigel Pearson and was loaned to Championship rivals Huddersfield Town, then managed by Simon Grayson, who he worked closely with at Leeds.

He then joined Bolton Wanderers, but was once again loaned out to one of Grayson’s sides this season, as he joined League One side Preston North End on loan.

However, it now seems as though there might be a possibility he might move to Leeds, with Redfearn unwilling to comment on the suggestion that Leeds might be back in for him again.

Done Deal: Leeds Agree Loan Deal For Forward – reports

Leeds United are set to loan forward Nicky Ajose back to Crewe Alexandra until the end of the season, as reported by Adam Pope of BBC Radio Leeds.

The rapid striker joined the Whites in the summer while Dave Hockaday was head coach of the Elland Road side.

However, with the sacking of Hockaday, the former Forest Green Rovers manager, came the end of Ajose’s first team appearances.

He played infrequently for Leeds’ Under 21 side until Neil Redfearn arranged a loan deal for him to join Crewe until the January transfer window.

It now seems as though Leeds have agreed to loan him to Crewe for the rest of the campaign.

It remains to be seen what Ajose’s future at Leeds will be.

He was something of a shock signing in the summer, having played only infrequently for Peterborough.

Ajose signed a three year deal, on reportedly good wages, meaning that he might prove difficult to move on on a permanent basis.

Spurs Plot Swoop For £3m Leeds Academy Graduate – reports

Tottenham Hotspur are planning a swoop for Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delph in the January transfer window, with the player’s contract set to expire at the end of the season, as reported by the Daily Mirror.

The White Hart Lane club are hoping to take advantage of Villa’s uncertainty over his future by capturing him for only £3 million, far less than the England international’s true value.

This is because Villa could be set to lose him on a free transfer at the end of the season if Delph does not accept a new contract.

Delph has impressed for Villa in recent seasons since his £6 million transfer from Leeds United.

The talented midfielder came through Leeds’ famous Thorp Arch academy, the first home of other highly talented footballers like Alan Smith, Jonathan Woodgate and Harry Kewell.

Spurs could even include one of their players who they have deemed surplus to requirements to convince Villa to sell Delph this month.

The likes of Aaron Lennon, Andros Townsend, Emmanuel Adebayor, Paulinho and Moussa Dembele are all available to anyone who is interested.
