Man Utd To Reignite Interest In Tricky Wing Speedster In January – reports

Manchester United retain an interest in Fiorentina’s wing wizard Juan Cuadrado, as reported by Fichajes.net, the Spanish news outlet covering football.

The Colombian wide player was considered to be a key target of Louis van Gaal’s this summer, although a move did not come to fruition after a long period of speculation and rumour.

Cuadrado emerged as one of the most promising players at this summer’s World Cup, and it seemed as though he would be certain to leave La Viola.

However, after significant discussion, it seemed as though Cuadrado would be set to stay with the Serie A side, with an expectation that he would significantly increase his wage as part of a new contract.

This has not turned out to be the reality, and it now seems as though the Colombian international is set to move.

Fiorentina would benefit from any sale, and would apparently be able to strengthen the team in January if the move went through.

Liverpool Look To Argentinian World Cup Star To Boost CL Squad – Reports

Liverpool are reportedly interested in Argentina’s World Cup goalkeeping star Sergio Romero and have registered their interest in the goalkeeper with his club, Sampdoria, as reported by the Daily Star.

Italian outlet Sky Sport Italia have been suggesting that the Merseyside team are in initial negotiations for the transfer of the 27-year-old goalkeeper, who spent last season on loan with Ligue 1 club Monaco.

Reports also suggest that a deal between the Serie A side and Liverpool is close.

Liverpool seemingly see Romero as the ideal replacement for the recently departed Pepe Reina, who moved to Bayern Munich earlier this month. The Spanish international was only ever going to be kept in reserve to Simon Mignolet this season, and given Romero’s willingness to remain as the backup to Danijel Subasic at Monaco last season, he could be a good solution.

He has impressed, however, being nominated on the three-man shortlist for FIFA’s Golden Glove award at the World Cup.

Sampdoria will be willing to let Romero go, having signed Emiliano Viviano in his place.
