Serie A Giants Confident Of Signing £7m Arsenal Targeted Chelsea Star – reports

Roma are confident that they can capture Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech during the January transfer window, despite the fact that Jose Mourinho has repeatedly insisted that the Czech international stopper will not leave, as reported by the Daily Mirror.

Part of the reason behind Mourinho’s unwillingness to sanction the sale of Cech is the fact that the Blues allowed Mark Schwarzer, previously third choice goalkeeper at the club, to join Premier League rivals Leicester City.

Cech, who has been first choice at Stamford Bridge since Jose Mourinho’s first spell in charge of the club, has admitted that the return of Thibaut Courtois and his displacement as first choice goalkeeper has frustrated him this season.

This has lead to the likes of Arsenal chasing him heading into this month.

However, Roma are confident that they can snap up the £7 million rated ‘keeper.

A move from the Italian side would present a conundrum for Mourinho, as it would ensure that Cech does not move to rivals Arsenal during January.

Juve Confirm Interest In £15.6m Man Utd Targeted Midfield Maestro

Juventus manager Massimilliano Allegri has confirmed his side’s interest in Galatasary midfielder Wesley Sneijder, as reported by the Daily Mirror.

This puts them in direct competition with Manchester United, who are also thought to be keen on a move for the capped Netherlands international midfielder.

Sneijder is keen on a move away from Turkey in the January transfer window, having failed to settle in Istanbul since his arrival.

There have also been issues over wages, with Galatasaray reportedly missing payments to a series of their better paid players thus far this campaign.

Allegri has today confirmed that Juve are keen to move for Sneijder, but that it might be difficult to capture him, meaning that Man Utd could still push through a deal in the future.

He said: “It’s not easy to reinforce Juve, but we have some very clear ideas and it’s no secret that we are looking for an attacking midfielder and a defender.

“Sneijder has tremendous technical quality and would complete an already very strong part of the team, creating competition for places.”

Sneijder’s agent told the press yesterday that the former Inter Milan man would not be allowed to leave the Turkish giants for anything less than his £15.6 million release clause.

Chelsea Eye £20m Striker For January Swoop – reports

Chelsea are eyeing up a move for Inter Milan’s Argentinian striker Mauro Icardi in the January transfer window as a possible replacement for Didier Drogba, who is set to retire at the end of the season.

They have also been handed a boost in that swoop, after Inter secured the signature of Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski on loan until the end of the season, with an option to purchase him permanently written into that deal, suggesting Roberto Mancini is already looking to replace Icardi.

In order to fund that particular move, Inter’s hierarchy might be tempted to cash in on one of their prized assets, especially with Chelsea sniffing around.

The Blues are willing to spend up to £20 million to bring their man to Stamford Bridge, according to the Daily Express.

Also according to the Express, Jose Mourinho believes Icardi is the man to replace Drogba, and he is keen on securing another striker to fill his sizeable boots during the transfer window.
