Chelsea Approach £200m Target’s Father Ahead Of Swoop – reports

Chelsea have reportedly approached Lionel Messi’s father to seek out interest in the player making a £200 million move to Stamford Bridge in the summer, as reported by the Daily Express.

There has been an incredible amount of speculation about Messi possibly leaving Barcelona, where he started his exceptional career, with the player’s reported falling out with manager Luis Enrique playing a key role in that decision.

Apparently, the four-time Ballon d’Or winner has told Barca’s board that they can either have him or the manager, with Enrique doing exactly the same with regards to Messi’s future.

Even if Enrique is ultimately sacked, the issue could still cause Messi to depart the Nou Camp in the near future.

Chelsea are thought to be lining up a £200 million move for him in the summer.

Reports in Spain suggest that Jose Mourinho’s side have contacted Jorge Messi, his father, to discuss a possible move.

Jorge’s influence could be used to swing Messi in Chelsea’s direction.
