£16m Liverpool Summer Buy Could Be Set For Shock Loan – reports

Liverpool’s summer signing Mario Balotelli could be set for a shock loan switch away from the Anfield club in January, according to Tuttomercatoweb.com.

While there have been several suggestions that Balotelli could depart, whether on a permanent or temporary basis, the possible destination is particularly surprising, with Greek side Olympiacos mooted as the club he is set to sign for.

This would be a considerable fall for the talented striker, who came to Liverpool in the summer considered to be a replacement for the talismanic Luis Suarez.

However, Balotelli has failed to settle since his £16 million switch towards the end of the transfer window.

He has failed to score in the Premier League, showing his inability to replace the Uruguayan striker who moved to Barcelona after the World Cup.

Brendan Rodgers is therefore clearly keen to cut his losses on the player and loan him to the Greek giants Olympiacos, at least according to the reports emanating from Italy.
