Confirmed Liverpool XI vs. AFC Wimbledon: Sterling Out, £16m Striker Back On The Bench

Liverpool have confirmed their starting eleven for the game against AFC Wimbledon at Kingsmeadow tonight in the FA Cup third round.

The Reds have seen a series of Premier League rivals progress to the fourth round, including Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea, and will be hopeful of a similar result against lower league opposition.

Tonight’s game is the first time the two teams have faced off since Wimbledon’s rebirth following the move of the club’s share in the Football League to Milton Keynes.

However, Wimbledon have been granted the history of the club that existed before and played in south London, meaning that the fixture today is a rematch of the 1988 FA Cup final, which the Dons famously won 1-0.

Brendan Rodgers has named a strong side for tonight’s game, including former Southampton man Rickie Lambert and Phillipe Coutinho.

Adam Lallana misses out as a result of injury. Mario Balotelli returns to the bench.
