Chelsea are set to try and stop Manchester United in their quest to bring Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba back to Old Trafford, according to the Daily Express.
The west London club and Man Utd have both been handed a huge boost in their chase, after it was revealed that Juve have already began to line up a replacement for the midfield dynamo, in the form of Paris Saint Germain midfielder Marco Veratti.
While Man Utd are said to be eyeing up a staggering bid worth £77 million to bring a player that they allowed to depart for free to return to Old Trafford, Chelsea are also interested in the dynamic midfielder, who was voted the best young player at the World Cup.
Italian Veratti is Juve’s preferred replacement if Pogba is sold for a staggering sum, and a move is considered to be feasible, given that Veratti is said to be keen on a return to his home country.
This could provide a the two Premier League sides with added impetus to push through a move.
