Man Utd Set To Lay Out £44m For Striker – reports

Manchester United are looking increasingly likely to pay the required £44 million fee to turn Radamel Falcao’s loan spell into a permanent transfer, according to the Daily Star.

The Colombian international joined the Old Trafford side on transfer deadline day on a permanent basis, but it will cost a huge amount to secure his signature after the end of the season.

Louis van Gaal was initially doubtful about Falcao’s future with the Red Devils in the first few months of his spell.

The striker suffered from a series of injuries after his arrival, following on from the knee trouble he faced towards the end of last season while still at AS Monaco, who Man Utd have loaned him from.

However, he has been heavily involved over the festive period, also starting the game against Yeovil in the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon.

Man Utd progressed from that game and now enter the fourth round draw.

They have not won the competition since 2004.
