Liverpool Set To Announce Deal For 20-Year-Old Ace – reports

Liverpool are set to announce a new contract for their integral wing wizard Raheem Sterling, tying him to the club for another five years.

With the injury suffered by Daniel Sturridge at the start of the season, Sterling has been an important player for the Reds, and has led the way, offering a significant goal threat and bagging six goals in all competitions.

However, there was a fear among the Liverpool faithful that a lack of a new contract could see him move elsewhere.

Real Madrid and Chelsea are two clubs that have been linked with a move for Sterling in recent months.

Steven Gerrard is set to move to the MLS at the end of the season, and Liverpool are keen not to see another key player leave.

According to The Sunday Times, Sterling and Liverpool are nearing an agreement over a new deal, and with a lucrative offer on the table, Sterling will put pen to paper in the near future.

A club source said: “It was always the club’s intention to show Raheem how much we value him and the belief is the new contract will be in place by the end of the month.”
