Liverpool Turned Down By £22m Midfield Maestro – reports

Ahead of the January transfer window opening, Liverpool have been dealt a huge blow, with Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan turning down a move to the Anfield club.

Liverpool have lined up a huge £22 million move for the talented midfielder, making him one of their priorities to sign in the January window.

Reports from Italy, however, imply that the Belgian international has decided against making the move to the Reds.

This comes despite the fact that Brendan Rodgers’ side are willing to double his pay packet by offering him a contract worth more than £60,000 a week.

Il Tempo is reporting that Nainggolan is more than happy to stay in Italy if his current club are willing to increase his current pay packet from £30,000 a week.

This will come as a hammer blow to Liverpool, who drew 2-2 with relegation threatened Leicester City at home on Thursday despite going two goals ahead.

  1. nonsense…he’s unsignable due to ownership issues since Roma bought 50% of his contract last summer with an eye to buy the other 50% this coming summer but Cagliari want too much.
