Liverpool Blow In Race For £12m Forward – reports

Liverpool have been dealt another blow going into the January transfer window, with the news emerging that Bayern Munich’s highly talented winger Xherdan Shaqiri is on the cusp of moving to Juventus on loan.

The Reds have been chasing Shaqiri since the summer, when a series of moves for the player, who has been valued at around £12 million, failed to come off.

Shaqiri spent the summer in Brazil with the Swiss national side, and scored a famous hat trick as they progressed past the group stages.

He is thought to be unhappy at Bayern, having seen opportunities limited under manager Pep Guardiola.

While Liverpool have been in pole position to sign him since the summer, Juventus have now emerged as contenders.

Shaqiri is now likely to move to Turin on a loan deal until the end of the season, and Juve would have the option of making the move permanent in the summer if they choose, according to the Daily Star.
