Man Utd To Secure £47m Defender At The End Of The Season – reports

Manchester United are likely to sign Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels at the end of the season, with a £47 million move for the German international in the offing.

Hummels has repeatedly denied that he has any interest in a move away from Dortmund, but he is still expected to move on.

The German giants have been in a bad state this season, and enter the winter break in the relegation zone, a huge fall from their usual heights.

Dortmund have consistently challenged for the title in the German league since the appointment of Jurgen Klopp, regularly competing well in Europe too.

Man Utd have been performing well in the Premier League, winning seven of their last eight games, but have still looked shaky in defence.

As a result, they are likely to bring in defensive reinforcements, whether in January or the summer.

It now seems as though Louis van Gaal will finally capture his man in Mats Hummels, for the staggering £47 million fee, according to the Daily Express.
