Pochettino Reveals Spurs January Transfer Plans

Mauricio Pochettino has revealed Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer plans going into the January transfer window, with the manager admitting that he is not particularly bothered about signing another player.

Despite the north London club’s struggles in the Premier League thus far this season, with Spurs a significant distance behind the Champions League places, Pochettino has claimed that he is happy with the make up of his squad as it stands.

This will come as something of a blow to Spurs fans, who will have been expecting, at the least, the addition of a striker to make up for a lack of options in the squad going into the winter window.

While this could be a bluff from Pochettino, it could also speak for the fact that he will not be backed in the transfer market by the club’s ownership.

By way of contrast, their north London rivals Arsenal are expected to spend heavily in January to improve their options.

“January is not about whether we sign a player or not. I am happy with my squad,” Pochettino said.

“I never put pressure on the club to sign a player. As head coach I try to explain to the chairman and the sporting director my thoughts and after we decide together what is best for the club.”

  1. It’s probably the main reason gave Pochettino the job especially as he totally blew 100 million in the last window. I hope he means it when he says he’s not going to get involved in the buying of players anymore and will just concerntrate on the business side of things. I hate it when chairmen carry on like they know about football. They should remain in the background.

  2. Shock horror, chairman of football club has a say in how the club is run..
Stop press: 6th richest club in league is averaging 5th in the league.
    Everybody panic!
