FFP Stops Chelsea Move For £200m Messi – Mourinho

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has admitted that the Blues have no chance of capturing Lionel Messi in the future, due to the existence of Financial Fair Play rules.

Messi is thought to be keen on a move to the Premier League, having grown slightly disillusioned with his time at the Catalan giants in recent months.

Barca are thought to value the Argentine international, who is considered to be one of the best players of all time, at around £200 million.

Reports in Spain have even suggested that the Nou Camp club are willing to cash in on Messi, a shocking twist in his career.

Unlike some of the other wealthy clubs in the Premier League, Chelsea have struck rigidly to Financial Fair Play rules.

As a result, Mourinho has admitted that there is no chance Messi could move to Stamford Bridge, even if the player wanted a switch to the west London side.

“No I have no chance of that,” Mourinho told BT Sport.

“Because at this moment there is financial fair play and with the financial fair play we have to follow certain rules, certain numbers and we obviously have no conditions to buy, as you say a ‘super amazing player’ paid with ‘super amazing numbers’ that Chelsea at this moment we cannot do.”
