Arsenal Look To Sign ‘New Gonzalo Higuain’ In January – reports

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is hopeful of improving his attacking options in the January transfer window with a deal to sign Boca Juniors striker Jonathan Calleri.

The forward has impressed to the extent that he has been dubbed the new Gonzalo Higuain by sections of the press, showing his talent.

Reports in Argentina suggest that Wenger has sent his scouts to track the 21 year old Boca player ahead of a possible January swoop for the forward.

It might not be easy for Wenger, however, with the giants of Argentinian football believed to be desperate to keep Calleri until the summer.

This might mean that a move for the player cannot be pushed through during the winter transfer window, according to the Daily Star.

Calleri moved to Boca earlier this year, and has scored six goals in just 15 games for them.

The likes of Yaya Sanogo, Lukas Podolski and Joel Campbell are set to leave Arsenal in January, meaning that forward recruits are required.
