Arsenal are tracking Nantes’ young midfield star Jordan Veretout.
The French Under-21 international midfielder has appeared on Arsenal’s radar after impressing this season for the French side.
He is also being watched by the likes of Inter Milan and a series of Spanish sides, offering significant competition to the north London club, according to the Daily Mirror.
Veretout has a contract with Nantes that runs until 2017, and he has a buy out clause written into his deal that means a club would be able to capture him for £4 million.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is expected to make significant additions in January, having seen his side slip down the Premier League.
His team collapsed to a 2-2 draw at the weekend against Liverpool, despite going a goal ahead and Liverpool having Fabio Borini sent off shortly after his introduction from the bench.
Positions in which they are most likely to add players are in defence and midfield, where injuries have impacted on Wenger’s options throughout the campaign.
