West Ham United defender Winston Reid has insisted that he is not paying attention to the speculation surrounding his future, with a potential transfer looming in the distance.
The New Zealand international has also told the press that he will continue to try his absolute best for the east London club this season.
Negotiations between Reid and Sam Allardyce’s side have reached an impasse, and as a result, he could walk away from the club on a bosman transfer at the end of the season.
West Ham’s rise up the Premier League table this season has been exceptional, and they go into Christmas in a Champions League berth.
Reid has been integral to those displays, and the possibility of him joining Arsenal would come as a blow to fans of the Hammers.
Despite that uncertainty, however, Reid believes the contract situation is not affecting him, and that he will help West Ham push for the top four.
Reid said: “It doesn’t really affect me. It is just one of those things that has been going on in the background.
“I know where I am and just get on with it and I have always given 100 per cent for this club for as long as I have been here and I will continue to do that.
“It is not something that bothers me, it is just part of being a footballer and it is no big drama.”
